Description
Description
A lovely example of the Army & Navy Co-operative Society Limited pot lid for Almond Shaving Cream.
A classic Victorian advertising lid produced for the Army & Navy Co‑operative Society, this example dates to around 1900–1910 and features the firm’s distinctive sepia‑brown transfer print with its soldier‑and‑sailor crest. These lids were part of the Society’s branded gentleman’s toiletries range and were sold atop white ironstone pots. Measuring roughly 3.5 inches in diameter, they were printed underglaze for durability and are now sought after for their clean graphics and strong period identity. A well‑preserved survivor of early 20th‑century retail packaging and a fine addition to any pot‑lid or military‑themed collection.
