Description
Description
On offer here is a beautiful vase featuring Pomegranate’s and Berries, designed and signed by William Moorcroft. This is shape No. 65.
William Moorcroft’s Pomegranate design is one of the defining motifs of his early studio period, created in the first decades of the 20th century when he was developing the richly modelled, hand‑decorated style that made his pottery internationally recognised. The pattern features rounded pomegranates, berries, and flowing foliage, all outlined in raised tube‑lining and filled with glowing underglaze colours that shift from deep reds to purples, greens, and blues.
Each vase is individually decorated by hand, giving the fruit forms a natural, organic character and ensuring subtle variations from piece to piece. The combination of sculptural linework, saturated colour, and Moorcroft’s signature craftsmanship has made Pomegranate one of his most collected and enduring designs.
