A pair of Early Burton Brothers (Dunedin) photographs 1) Chief Te Rangituataka also known as Reihana Takerei (The Great Mokau Chief) No.3615.
2) The second picture (Reverse side) shows two Samoans standing with clubs in Pango Pango.
Burton Brothers was founded in Dunedin in 1866 by Walter John Burton. His brother joined the firm in 1868. The brothers travelled extensively around New Zealand using a custom made photographic vehicle. The business closed in 1914.
