Description
A lovely little watercolour by Edward Combes Depicting a ship run aground on a beach at dusk, signed and dated for 1876. Edward was born in England in 1830 and later moved to Australia in 1851 where he became a prospector. Edward studied scientific engineering he was later to get involved with politics and became a politician in New South Wales. Edwards other passion was watercolour drawing and had studied in Paris. he went on to be highly involved in the foundation of the Art gallery of New south Wales. Edward died in 1895.
