Here we have an unusual handmade candle snuffer in the form of a top hat by New York silversmiths Leonore Doskow. Leonore Doskow 1910 – 2008 born in Philadelphia, she graduated from Bryn Mawr College and became a silversmith. Later, she Married David M. Doskow and moved to New York City where they formed a business under the name of Leonore Doskow Incorporated. She had a long working life, still working at age 75. She died suddenly at the age of 97.
