Description
A rare and beautiful hand painted soup bowl and saucer by well known Royal Worcester Master artist Edward Townsend. Both pieces are signed and depict the British bird the “Thrush”. Both pieces have scalloped gold borders. Edward Townsend sometimes known as “Ted” Was a Worcester master artist during the mid 20th century, he specialized in watercolours of various fruits, British birds and landscapes including highland cattle. Edward joined the Worcester factory in 1918 and retired in 1971.
