An unusual Davenport pottery pierced oval platter in the “Flying Bird” design. Clear Davenport stone China mark to the back. John Davenport founded the pottery in 1794. At its peak the company employed over 1500 staff. Decline set in in later years and unfortunately the firm closed its doors in 1887.
