Description
A delightful figurine by Austrian Ernst Wahliss or children gathering fruit or nuts. Impressed to base No. 4435.
Ernst Wahliss figurines capture the elegance and artistry of late‑19th‑century European porcelain. Produced in Vienna and later at his Turn‑Teplitz factory, these pieces are known for their flowing Art Nouveau lines, expressive faces, and finely modelled details. Wahliss favoured romantic, whimsical and classical themes, often creating figures with soft pastel tones, delicate gilding, and sculptural movement that gives each piece a sense of life and personality.
Collectors value Wahliss figurines for their craftsmanship and the distinctive style that bridges Victorian charm with emerging Jugendstil aesthetics. Whether depicting graceful ladies, mythological characters, or playful children, each figurine reflects the high standards of design and finish that made Wahliss one of the leading porcelain makers of his era.
Today, authentic Ernst Wahliss pieces remain sought after for their beauty, historical interest, and the artistry that continues to stand out more than a century later.
