A souvenir cup from the British empire exhibition held at Wembley London England. No makers mark to the base. The cup depicts flags from the nations participating and the official symbol of the Wembley lion.
A British Empire Exhibition souvenir cup, produced for the landmark event held at Wembley in 1924–1925. These cups were sold as affordable keepsakes for visitors and typically feature transfer‑printed exhibition crests, pavilion imagery, or commemorative text, celebrating Britain’s imperial reach and the modern, forward‑looking tone of the exhibition.
Made in English pottery — often by well‑known Staffordshire firms — the cups usually have a clean cream body, simple tapered form, and crisp printed decoration. Many were finished with gilt accents, now often gently worn from age, adding to their period charm.
A classic piece of 1920s exhibition memorabilia, valued for its historical significance and its connection to one of the largest cultural and industrial showcases of the era.
